Yoga Tropics Classes:
Yoga Tropics classes are Hot (heated to approximately 106 degrees). Our classes pull from several styles including Bikram's, Vinyasa flow, and Ashtanga yoga. Classes emphasize stillness in postures and use Ujjayi breathing.
Tropics 1, 60 minutes. Tropics 1 is our introductory class made up of approximately 30 postures. The class is appropriate for beginners as well as regular practitioners.
Tropics 1, 90 minutes. For a deeper work out we offer a longer 90 minute class. The 90 minute Tropics 1 class is well suited for beginners as well. The series is the same as the 60 minute class but most postures are done twice allowing you to go deeper into postures. This is helpful for beginners who are learning the technicalities of the postures as well as experienced practitioners who enjoy a deeper stretch.
Tropics 2, 60 minutes. Tropics 2 is a different sequence of postures. The class is well suited for anyone interested in furthering their practice. The class is based off of the Tropics 1 class, so it is adviseable to have a solid foundation in Tropics 1, but is not necessary. Tropics 2 is also a variable class, new postures are introduced every day.
What to expect as a beginner. Read our FAQ's page for information on what to expect your first classes. even if you have been practicing for years, doing yoga in the heat has its own challenges.
Please bring a yoga mat, towel and water to class. If possible, arrive at least ten minutes before class starts so you have time to fill out a registration and get settled in. If you do not have these, they are available for rent, and water for sale. We accept personal checks and cash.
An important reminder to give yourself often is that yoga is a practice. Everyday can be different depending on countless variables. Be patient with yourself, you should never expect anything of yourself when you come in to practice but only observe how you do and feel. Your goal in yoga is to do the best you can every time, your best may vary every practice. Enjoy your practice and acknowledge yourself for taking time out of your day to do your yoga!
