Stanton Smith

Stanton “Stan” found yoga via conditioning for competitive sailing at fifteen. For the next four years, Stan trained himself from books, especially, Donna Farhi’s “Yoga Mind, Body & Spirit.” During college, he started to practice Bikram yoga. In the fall of 2005, Stan traveled around the PacificNorthwest with a Nepalese Sherpa, Ravi Kumar. Stan furthered his practice that winter in Acroyoga and Iyengar schools. In June of 2006, Stan attempted Karsten’s route of Mt. McKinley and began teaching yoga to his expedition mates. In April of 2012, Stanton received his first 200 hour teacher certificate in Power Vinyasa from Melissa Hernandez. 2013 is Stanton’s year of studentship (Adhikara); he is studying Hot Yoga from Yoga Tropics and Anusara fromMichael Fukumura. After my last professional job, I reflected on my Dharma. Everyday, I strive to connect myself deeper with nature, by aligning myself with sensitivity and power. My service is to share yoga by contributing my unique gifts and talents with all that are seeking yogic benefits.
