Typical Day of Training: 

Go for a swim or a surf, walk along the beach or stroll through the beautiful and serene Meditation Gardens before or after yoga. The temple is also available for meditation during the day. Fantastic food choices await you for breakfast, lunch or breaks and are within walking distance of the studios and training center. Multiple vegetarian or vegan options are available at one of many cafes, bistros or markets.

Yoga Tropics is registered with Yoga Alliance. Our staff is comprised of several E-RYS 500s  or experienced registered yoga teachers with extensive knowledge and expertise. Not only will you be provided with individual attention, our staff offers a supportive environment to help you develop your practice and become a certified yoga instructor. We welcome students of all levels, ages and backgrounds.  We are registered school with Yoga Alliance, and our staff consists of several E-RYT 500's, or experienced registered yoga teachers with over 500 hours of training and several thousands of hours teaching yoga.  Our Teacher Training leaders are highly trained and are authentically passionate about yoga. There are also over a dozen teacher at the 500 E-RYT level available to answer your questions and guide you in your development as a teacher. The Center for Yoga Studies offers a supportive and team building environment to help you develop your practice, transform as an individual and become a certified yoga instructor. Students of all levels, ages and backgrounds are welcome.  

  • Learn how to safely and effectively guide students through a yoga class
  • Learn fundamental anatomy and physiology as it relates to yoga postures and breathing
  • Learn about alignment and techniques to maintaining a safe practice while avoiding injury
  • Learn to "method act" as a teacher using your voice and hands to encourage and inspire students
  • Learn how to give safe adjustments by learning how to read bodies
  • Learn the secret of "pranayama" or breath, key to long and vital life
  • Learn the foundations and history of yoga 
  • Learn tools to draw students in and techniques to retain and expand your followers
  • Learn the basics of marketing yourself as a yoga teacher. 
During your 200 Hour training you will be learning about the many health benefits of the basic beginner Hot Series by Bikram that has helped millions recover from a multitude of health issues and how to lead students in a safe yet challenging class.  You will also study the basics to teach "Vinyasa" which means "to flow with breath" from several of the finest and most experienced teachers in the area exposing you different styles of yoga and various techniques of teaching.  The Teacher Training Course can be completed in as little as 10 weeks, however there are options for students requiring more flexibility.

Yoga Tropics Teacher Program is recognized by Yoga Alliance as a registered yoga school.  Training meets twice per week for 10 weeks, one weekday evening and Saturday all day. It is possible to complete 200 hours within the 10 weeks if you dedicate everyday to practicing and practice teaching under the supervision of our E-RYT's. If your schedule does not allow for daily commitment, the training will take however long you take to complete 200hours of training.

The 200 hours of the training are broken down as follows:

100 hours Techniques Training/PracticeIncludes asanas, pranayamas, kriyas, chanting, mantra, meditation, and other traditional yoga techniques.

25 hours Teaching Methodology—Includes principles of demonstration, observation, assisting/correcting, instruction, teaching styles, qualities of a teacher, the student's process of learning, and business aspects of teaching yoga

20 hours Anatomy & PhysiologyIncludes both human physical anatomy and physiology (bodily systems, organs, etc.) and energy anatomy and physiology (chakras, nadis, etc.). Includes both the study of the subject and application of its principles to yoga practice (benefits, contraindications, healthy movement patterns, etc).

30 hours Yoga Philosophy/Lifestyle and Ethics for Yoga TeachersIncludes the study of yoga philosophies, yoga lifestyle, and ethics for yoga teachers.

10 hours PracticumIncludes practice teaching, receiving feedback, observing others teaching and hearing/giving feedback. Also includes assisting students while someone else is teaching.

15 hours Electives These addtional hours can be distributed to whichever area is most needed.

By the end of your training you will have:

– Learned to guide students through a safe and challenging Hot Yoga class.
– Developed an understanding of the physiology and anatomy of the postures.
– Learned how to teach breathing techniques and how to incorporate them with asana practice.
– Explored the basic history and theory of yoga.
– Developed your teaching skills, speaking to a group, demonstrating, adjusting, etc.

TUITION: The cost of the training is $2,500 which includes fees, books, and classes while in training (5 months unlimited). If you have a current yoga class package when you begin, we will put it on hold until after 5 months.  Early Bird Discount $2250 if paid-in-full by Sept 24th

Payment plans are available upon request. Additional $200 Discount for Students, Active Duty Military, Senior 65+ with Current I.D
