Typical Day of Training:
Go for a swim or a surf, walk along the beach or stroll through the beautiful and serene Meditation Gardens before or after yoga. The temple is also available for meditation during the day. Fantastic food choices await you for breakfast, lunch or breaks and are within walking distance of the studios and training center. Multiple vegetarian or vegan options are available at one of many cafes, bistros or markets.

Not only will you be provided with individual attention, our staff offers a supportive environment to help you develop your practice and become a certified yoga instructor. Yoga Tropics Teacher Program is recognized by Yoga Alliance as a registered yoga school. Training meets twice per week for 10 weeks, one weekday evening and Saturday all day. It is possible to complete 200 hours within the 10 weeks if you dedicate everyday to practicing and practice teaching under the supervision of our E-RYT's. If your schedule does not allow for daily commitment, the training will take however long you take to complete 200hours of training.
The 200 hours of the training are broken down as follows:
100 hours Techniques Training/Practice—Includes asanas, pranayamas, kriyas, chanting, mantra, meditation, and other traditional yoga techniques.
25 hours Teaching Methodology—Includes principles of demonstration, observation, assisting/correcting, instruction, teaching styles, qualities of a teacher, the student's process of learning, and business aspects of teaching yoga
20 hours Anatomy & Physiology—Includes both human physical anatomy and physiology (bodily systems, organs, etc.) and energy anatomy and physiology (chakras, nadis, etc.). Includes both the study of the subject and application of its principles to yoga practice (benefits, contraindications, healthy movement patterns, etc).
30 hours Yoga Philosophy/Lifestyle and Ethics for Yoga Teachers—Includes the study of yoga philosophies, yoga lifestyle, and ethics for yoga teachers.
10 hours Practicum—Includes practice teaching, receiving feedback, observing others teaching and hearing/giving feedback. Also includes assisting students while someone else is teaching.
15 hours Electives These addtional hours can be distributed to whichever area is most needed.
By the end of your training you will have:
– Learned to guide students through a safe and challenging Hot Yoga class.
– Developed an understanding of the physiology and anatomy of the postures.
– Learned how to teach breathing techniques and how to incorporate them with asana practice.
– Explored the basic history and theory of yoga.
– Developed your teaching skills, speaking to a group, demonstrating, adjusting, etc.

TUITION: The cost of the training is $2,500 which includes fees, books, and classes while in training (5 months unlimited). If you have a current yoga class package when you begin, we will put it on hold until after 5 months. Early Bird Discount $2250 if paid-in-full by Sept 24th
